County Services Altered by COVID-19 Precations

All Dickinson County public offices will be closed to walk in business effective Monday March 23rd, 2020 until further notice. 

County staff will continue to work and will deal with the public by phone to the extent they can. Should a call necessitate coming to the building the staff can schedule the appointment. Each county office may be contacted directly for service or you may call 785-263-3120 to be transferred to the appropriate department.


Sheriff’s Department and Jail

  • Jail Visitation is canceled until further notice
  • Public Fingerprinting is canceled until further notice
  • Registered Offenders should call rather than come in.  See Details
  • Vehicle Inspections will not be performed until further notice.

 Dickinson County District Court, Court Services, Community Corrections

  • All Court offices are closed until further notice, per Kansas Supreme Court Rule 2020-PR-016.

Treasurer’s Department

  • Curbside service is available to any customer concerned about coming into the courthouse to pay taxes or renew vehicle registrations.  Call (785) 263-3231 when you arrive and someone will come out to your car.
  • Driver’s License offices are closed until April 6th or until further notice.  March & April vehicle registrations are encouraged to renew by mail (include your phone # & copy of insurance) or online at https://ikan.ks.gov 

Transfer Station

  • Do not come inside the building to pay for your trip.  Staff will come out to the vehicle.
  • Household Hazardous Waste service is closed until further notice.
  • Noxious Weed chemical sales are closed until further notice.
  • The Transfer Station is canceling all Saturday operations until further notice.   The Transfer Station will remain open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
