The County Administrator supervises the County Road and Bridge Department which constructs and maintains 207 miles of asphalt road, 108 miles of gravel road, and 300 bridges in Dickinson County.
The Road and Bridge Department is responsible for:
Road and bridge construction plans
Providing information on road plans and right of way
Right of way mowing and cleaning
Inspection, repair and replacement of bridges
Snow removal
Establishment and posting of speed limits
Sign design installation and repair
Paint striping
Construction, repair, resurfacing, and road maintenance
Upon request, the department provides advice and assistance to the 24 townships concerning culverts, structures, and road problems. The County Road and Bridge Department seeks state and federal funds for county roads and bridges.
